Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), one of the UK’s leading universities, needed to improve wireless network access to meet growing demand from more students with more devices. QMUL has five campuses, an award-winning student village and more than 60 separate buildings that needed an enhanced Wi-Fi solution.
EnablesIT was engaged to upgrade and extend QMUL’s wireless network across all of the university’s buildings. This involved replacing 880 wireless access points with 2,200 new devices, a 150 per cent increase. To support this, new cabling was installed across the university with a focus on avoiding disruption to teaching and sensitive research experiments.
QMUL and enablesIT established a partnership of trust and enablesIT’s flexible approach meant that tight deadlines were met while minimising disruption to the university’s work. As a result, students and staff now enjoy greatly improved wireless access.Visit website » Download case study »
“EnablesIT has been a great partner and it’s obvious the team supporting QMUL is working hard to deliver what we need. Project timelines are very tight. The flexibility of enablesIT and its ability to deliver with very short notice have been very helpful in keeping the project on schedule.”
